Guide

How to read more bookswithout reading faster.

To read more books, add sessions rather than speed. An average adult reads about 50 pages an hour, so twenty minutes a day is roughly 6,000 pages, or about twenty books, a year. Find the minutes in places you already wait, keep the book with you, track each session so you can see the total grow, and stop reading books you are not enjoying.

The math of a reading year

20 minutes a day at about 50 pages an hour is about 17 pages a day, around 6,000 pages a year: twenty books of 300 pages. Thirty minutes a day takes you past thirty books.

Find the minutes you already have

The commute, the queue, the ten minutes before sleep. Keep the book on you, in paper, on an e-reader or as an audiobook. Readimo times all three.

Watch the total grow

Seeing your pages add up is motivating in itself. Readimo’s calendar fills with the cover of each day’s book, and your goal paces itself to how you actually read.

Quit the wrong books

The fastest way to read more is to stop reading books you do not want to finish.
